A FABRICATING FORCE IN THE WESTERN CAPE

Stellenbosch in the heart of the Cape wine lands is home to Stellenbosch Premier Manufacturers t/a Stellenbosch NACO, an engineering company able to fabricate steel products of up to ten tonnes. Just as the master wine makers of the surrounding area take pride in their produce, so too is Stellenbosch Premier Manufacturers proud of its impeccable service and professional fabricating capabilities.

Stellenbosch Premier Manufacturers offers CAD based mechanical design, solid modelling, computational fluid dynamic (CFD) modelling, and finite element modelling (FEM) services. These design and analyses skills are complemented by the company’s many practical assets. These include two 8 tonne overhead cranes, a brake press (maximum capacity: 3m x 6mm, mild steel and stainless steel), a guillotine (maximum capacity: 3m x 6mm, mild steel and stainless steel) and a variety of other useful machinery.

Some of Premier Manufacturers manufacturing capabilities include: milling and turning, blasting and painting, section rolling, CNC operated flame cutting, welding and punching. Site work, mechanical installations and on-site maintenance are also an integral part of the company’s service offering.

Stellenbosch Premier Manufacturers has experienced substantial growth over the past ten years. It now employs up to 60 people during peak manufacturing periods and depends on the amount and size of the contracts being fulfilled at any given time. Due to its continued growth the company has moved to new custom-built manufacturing premises.

Premier Manufacturers has recently started a new division to serve their corrosion protection needs which were previously outsourced.. This development, which is 40% black-owned, ensures that Premier Manufacturers is doing its part for Black Economic Empowerment.

The continued development of employees is another area in which Premier Manufacturers shows its commitment. Many of the company’s staff has joined Premier Manufacturers directly after leaving school. Others were previously unemployed. The company, through its apprenticeship program has managed to train these staff from unskilled labourers to experienced artisans.

The fabrication company is growing the strong position it has established within the Western Cape Market and will be striving to continue in this vain for many years to come.
